Daniel Ricciardo has said that Red Bull Racing needs to be winning more races to convince him to stay at the team after his contract is up at the end of this season.

The Aussie has plenty of options after his contract runs out, as he'd be an obvious candidate for both Ferrari and Mercedes should they opt to replace one of the drivers they currently have.

Red Bull has certainly helped its case for retaining the Honey Badger for next season onwards by showing their strategic strength in China, but there is still much to be desired by the fizzy drinks manufacturer, Ricciardo told Channel 10 in Australia.

"I definitely want to be with the best car, as I've shown that I can win a race when I'm given the proper tools.

"I can handle the pressure and the intensity.

"If we can win a few more this year at Red Bull than that'll be a very attractive option.

"If not, I guess there are other options out there."

The Aussie was then pushed a bit into a corner and asked whether he'd stay at Red Bull if their form would stay as it is, which prompted him to give a very interesting answer.

"The win helps, but if we're finishing sixth every race then it's not the best option for me."
