The announced departure of Honda from F1 means that Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri will have to look for a new engine supplier for 2022. According to Ted Kravitz, F1 journalist at Sky Sports, Red Bull and AlphaTauri are not the only ones who should be concerned about Honda's departure.
"The reason why Honda is leaving Formula 1 should give a future President and CEO Stefano Domenicali some concerns," explained Kravitz. "If everyone goes electric it is clear that despite the hybrid F1 engines that have good fuel economy, they are missing the point."

Which direction should F1 go in?

"There will be no more fossil fuel in the future and it will all be electric. If suppliers stipulate that they will no longer go for fossil fuel, that's how it will go."
"You are now being asked whether they have made the right choice with the hybrid engines. Maybe they should go back to full combustion engines that make a great sound for entertainment. Developing full electric engines makes no sense, because Formula E has already made good progress there," concluded Kravitz.
