Alonso: ''I know what I'm gonna do and I'm gonna make that known as soon as I can'

Fernando Alonso stepped out of Formula 1 at the end of 2018 and saw his old team McLaren climb back up in 2019. The Spaniard would like to return to F1, but the question is whether that is feasible for Alonso?
''It's a question I've had to answer since 2018. I wanted to do something different and the WEC, Daytona and Dakar have given it to me. I wanted to get out of Formula 1, but these new rules make me curious. However, now that they have been postponed until 2022, I know what I'm going to do and I hope to announce that soon'', said Alonso to Marca.

What are the chances?

In that respect, a Formula 1 return in 2021 seems out of the question for Alonso. With the same rules as in the current year, Alonso sees no point in a return and aspires to other projects. For example, he strings the Indy500 again and may seem on his way to a full season in this class.
The question is of course whether Alonso will get a chance with the new rules in a Formula 1 team. With his statements he has closed the door on a lot of teams and he doesn't seem to get a chance at a team of the current top three. Since Alonso only wants to return to a top team, the chances don't seem realistic.
