Italian Grand Prix boss Angelo Sticchi Damiani says they are confident “a solution can be found” for Monza to host the nations Grand Prix beyond 2019.
The current deal at Monza expires in 2019 and has held a Formula 1 race every year since 1950, except one at Imola in 1980, and is amongst other tracks on the F1 calendar yet to agree a deal with Liberty Media.
"A renewal is far away but we are confident that a solution can be found in everyone's interests,” Damiani said, F1Today.net.
"As Monza is keen to host F1, so too is it important for F1 to have Monza, for the 2019 edition we will pay $24 million, a very high price.”
“We want to continue, but only in an economically sustainable framework. We cannot put the ACI's (Automobile Club d’Italia) budgets at risk."

Joining Monza as circuits that are in danger of losing a deal to hold a Formula 1 race beyond 2019 are other historical tracks in Silverstone in Great Britain, Hockenheim in Germany, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico.
While these circuits are negotiating potential new deals, Liberty Media has confirmed that the city of Hanoi in Vietnam will host a F1 race as of 2020, as well as Miami in the United States confirmed as a possibility for 2020.
