The first sessions of the Brazilian GP at the Ayrton Senna Internation Autodrome in Goiania, Brazil took place today in very challenging conditions for the riders.
It was a difficult day for all the riders as unpredictable weather left damp patches all over the circuit. The Timed Practice session was practically finished after half an hour as further rain prevented any of the riders from improving their lap times.
Johann Zarco topped the timing sheets ahead of Marc Marquez and rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu, meanwhile it was a difficult day for Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez who will have to compete in Q1.
Elsewhere, both VR46 riders also failed to make it directly through to Q2, putting even more pressure on them for tomorrow in what looks to be an equally unpredictable session.

MotoGP Brazil schedule and start times: Goiania race weekend timetable

The Brazilian Grand Prix makes its return to the MotoGP calendar this weekend with the Ayrton Senna Autodrome in Goiania set to host its first premier class race since 1989.
The circuit, named after the Brazilian Formula 1 legend, should act to somewhat 'level the playing field' between newer and experienced riders, and it also seems that the weather might play a role in the outcome of the weekend.
