Marc Marquez emerged victorious in a tricky sprint race after holding off VR46's Di Giannantonio in a tense battle.
Marquez, who
qualified on the front row despite a crash at Turn 4, pulled off a late overtake to claim sprint victory and avenge his defeat in Thai Grand Prix in Buriram.
Jorge Martin also impressed and managed to finish ahead of Aprilia teammate Marco Bezzecchi after a mistake from the Italian in the chicane.
Fabio Quartararo fought bravely against the faster bikes and managed to hold on for a very solid P6 finish, a result which Yamaha couldn't have pictured at the start of the weekend.
Diogo Moreira also had a solid race, the Brazilian rookie managed to finish inside the top ten in front of his home crowd. Elsewhere, it was a dismal showing for Honda as Joan Mir and Johann Zarco crashed out, with Luca Marini the highest placed in 11th.
The sprint was delayed after
a massive sinkhole opened up on the track, which was hit with heavy rain earlier in the week.

Massive sinkhole on track disrupts Brazilian MotoGP weekend
The Brazilian Grand Prix weekend is underway but the action has been temporarily delayed due to weather conditions which have affected the track's surface.
While Saturday has been relatively clear, the track at the Ayrton Senna Autodrome in Goiania, Brazil, appears to be suffering from a unique phenomenon dubbed 'weeping' in which water stored in the clay surface below is leaked back up onto the tarmac.
