Saturday afternoon in Formula 1 means it's time for qualifying. This time, the drivers will compete for the first ever pole position at Mugello. Mercedes look strong again, but Max Verstappen wasn't far away in practice.

Top three by a long way

This year the Tuscan Grand Prix will be held for the first time. Mugello is, therefore, a circuit that most drivers haven't had much experience on. The last official F1 test on the track was in 2012.
Mercedes are strong on the Italian circuit, but Verstappen isn't far from away. But his Red Bull Racing teammate Alexander Albon struggled to stay close in Italy. Going on Friday's running, Renault look to be strong favourites for the best of the rest position. Daniel Ricciardo was close to beating Alex Albon in FP2. Both Racing Point and McLaren also have a chance of grabbing another second-row grid spot.

Ferrari's party

The Tuscan Grand Prix is also the 1000th Ferrari Grand Prix. The team changed the livery on the car to the colours of 1950, especially for the occasion. Can the team put in a good performance during its home race?
