As Lewis Hamilton’s fame within the Formula 1 world has soared, one rather uncharacteristic thing about the seven-time champion has public persona has been his close bond with his pet dog Roscoe. The British driver has now revealed one quirky fact about his pet bulldog. Hamilton, who adopted Roscoe as his pet following his move to Mercedes in 2013, has seen the bulldog develop into one of the most famous pets across the motorsports scene. In a recent interview with Vogue Magazine, the Scuderia
Ferrari driver has revealed one unusual fact about his pet dog.
“He likes fancy, fancy sneakers,” Hamilton explains. “He picks up my Dior trainers and always takes them with him. He’s so bougie.”
Indeed, Roscoe has largely developed into a celebrity in his own right, with the bulldog boasting a social media page of his own. On occasions, Hamilton brings his pet to the Grand Prix weekends, including most recently at the British Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton recalls how he adopted Roscoe
Lewis Hamilton also touched on how he adopted Roscoe in 2013. The 40-year-old detailed how he carefully scanned for a pet that he felt was fitting for his pedigree.
“I scanned through probably a thousand dogs and looked through all these documents,” he recalled.
Roscoe’s dad was a Spanish champion, and his mother was an Irish champion. Hamilton opted to take one of the youngest puppies, and that marked the commencement of his story with his pet.
The Scuderia Ferrari driver has since shifted the dog’s diet to a vegan one, and Roscoe himself is reported to often exhibit a few human-like characteristics, including sleeping on his back.
