Hamilton, meanwhile, capitalised on Russell's disastrous weekend to move ahead of his fellow Briton in the standings and establish himself as the young Italian's closest challenger in the title race.

Just moments before the podium ceremony, Kardashian found herself at the centre of a humorous exchange when she was seen grabbing the towel reserved for race winner Antonelli and using it to playfully cool herself down. The unexpected scene quickly drew laughs from those nearby and soon began making the rounds online.

Before that, there had already been another awkward moment involving Kardashian. During his traditional pre-race grid walk, Brundle attempted to speak to the reality TV star, only to be seemingly ignored as she continued walking moments before the start of the race. The brief exchange quickly went viral, with many fans comparing it to the numerous celebrity snubs that have become a recurring feature of Brundle's grid walk over the years. Unfazed by the apparent rejection, the former Formula 1 driver simply carried on in search of other interviews before lights out.

Hamilton said it was great to have Kardashian at the circuit and thanked her for the support she had shown throughout the weekend, which ultimately culminated in a second-place finish and a kiss blown from the podium in her direction.

The Ferrari driver also expressed his appreciation for the friends and supporters who turned out for him, describing the atmosphere around him as incredible. Hamilton added that having good people in his corner makes a huge difference and praised Kardashian for the encouragement she provides on a daily basis.

"It's amazing to have her come this weekend and have the support," Hamilton stated in Sunday's press conference. "But, with my friends, incredible turnout, just overall, the people. I don't really know what else to say. It's amazing to have good people around you and good people supporting you. She does that for me every day."
