Two Dutch drivers in F1 in 2023? 'De Vries deserves a seat in Formula 1'

Nyck de Vries could not prolong his world title in Formula E this year, the championship went to his teammate Stoffel Vandoorne. Despite not being able to match his performance from last season, De Vries still hopes for a spot in Formula 1 in 2023. Jost Capito would like to see the Dutchman there.
De Vries has been linked with a possible move to Williams again in recent weeks. Alexander Albon has been confirmed for next season, but the future of Nicholas Latifi is uncertain. The Canadian driver had a very poor start to the season and has to fear for his seat. De Vries is one of the candidates to succeed him. He is not the only one, however, as Williams also has its own junior ready with Logan Sargeant.
The 27-year-old driver, still part of the Mercedes family, has been in free practice in Formula 1 twice this year. Once at Williams, once at Mercedes. Strikingly, De Vries was immediately faster than Williams driver Latifi. He also made a good impression at Mercedes, so De Vries still has a chance to step into the premier class of motor racing.

De Vries to Williams?

Capito, Williams team principal, is asked at the press conference at Zandvoort about a possible second Dutch driver in Formula 1. "He is very focussed, pushy, fast and he knows what he wants. He deserves a place in F1, but I don’t know if he will get one", said the German, who did not really want to comment on his team's 2023 line-up."De Vries did a great job in FP1 with us. We have a very good relationship."
