With the announcement of Red Bull Racing's punishment for exceeding its budget cap, it has also been immediately revealed how much Red Bull overspent by. The team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez ended up spending 1.6 per cent more than was allowed in 2021. They overpsent by £1,864,000.
FIA said in the statement released to the public that Red Bull did not act intentionally or fraudulently. Had Red Bull properly documented a tax deduction of £1.4 million, the excess would still have been 0.37% instead of 1.6%. This 1.6% is equivalent to just under £1.9 million.

This is how serious Red Bull's foul was

Red Bull Racing have learnt of their penalty. The Milton Keynes-based team has to pay $7 million to the FIA as a fine and, in addition, they will be cut from the available wind tunnel time in 2023. This should negate the advantage created.
