Max Verstappen passed the stewards at 01:00 Dutch time to explain why he took a long time to drive out of the pit lane. It is now also known whether the Dutchman will be punished for the incident.
The stewards have revealed that Verstappen will not be penalised for driving slowly out of the pit lane. Fernando Alonso and George Russell have also been 'exonerated'.

No grid penalty Verstappen

In Singapore earlier this year, Verstappen did the same thing. Then, too, he waited several moments before a green light to create a gap in qualifying. At the Marina Bay Street Circuit, Verstappen then received a reprimand.
Afterwards, the reigning world champion already revealed that he did not understand why he had been called to tell his story to the race organisers. " I don't think I did anything strange or wrong," said Verstappen, pointing to a new rule by the FIA as the cause of this 'problem'.
