The renowned Auto, Motor und Sport have suggested that one of the favourites to join Alfa Romeo Racing next year is Nyck de Vries. The German medium mentions the Dutchman, together with Theo Pourchaire as a possibility to succeed the reportedly departing Antonio Giovinazzi.
De Vries has been rumoured to be interested in joining the Swiss team of Frederic Vasseur, and Giovinazzi could leave, as well Kimi Raikkonen, two spots might be vacant. One is almost certain to go to Valtteri Bottas, while De Vries is on the list for the second seat, along with Pourchaire.

No Williams for the world champion

The brand new world champion in Formula E was long linked to Williams, which is of course because he has good ties with Mercedes, the team De Vries drives for in the electric racing class. However, Red Bull Racing seem to want to put Alexander Albon next to Nicholas Latifi.
Raikkonen's announced departure from Alfa Romeo has kept emotions busy as the rumour mill has been reopened. In the coming weeks, the teams will most likely reveal which drivers will be part of Formula 1 in 2022.
