Charles Leclerc did an amazing job in qualifying for the Sakhir Grand Prix, securing a second row start and P4 with a stunning lap. However, Leclerc knows that his car probably doesn't warrant P4 on the grid and that the race will be tough for them.
Leclerc's Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel was knocked out in Q2, but the Monegasque driver was not fazed and put it a brilliant lap.
After the session Leclerc told Sky Sports: "I didn't have a new set (of tyres). I took the decision to go early on the new set instead of later in the session because I was expecting the track to be a mess at the end of the session and second I had the idea clear and just did the job."
Despite his excellent performance, Leclerc stayed humble and admitted there is always room for improvement: "I don't think I could have done anything better later in the session. I don't like to say it's the perfect lap because you can always do something better."
He also spoke about how the race is likely to be difficult for him, adding: "I think a few times this year we have been qualifying ahead then what we should have and this brings us to have a lot of hopes for Sunday, but it's going to be difficult. Tomorrow is going to be difficult for us. I don't think we have the fourth fastest car."
