Fernando Alonso was back on the podium for the first time in a very long time and so he was voted Driver of the Day by global Formula 1 fans. But what do GPblog users think? Vote for your 'GPblog Driver of the Day' now!
Verstappen was untouchable this weekend by winning both qualifying and the race. Despite some issues with the RB19 in free practice, the two-time world champion was again extremely dominant in Bahrain. The Dutchman made no mistakes and drove the competition to smithereens.
However, Alonso also performed fantastically by overtaking George Russell, Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz on track to finish third. The AMR23 is very competitive, but the way the Spanish veteran drove deserves the compliments.
Then we also have Pierre Gasly. Verstappen's former teammate had to start from the very back but finished in a handsome ninth place in an Alpine that is not yet as good as last year's. And what of Alexander Albon? The British Thai took another point for Williams, a sterling performance.
Who did you think was the best driver this Sunday? Let us know by filling in the poll and discuss in the comments.
