Circuits more realistic than ever thanks to LIDAR technology

EA Sports and Codemasters are going all out with F1 25, the latest edition of the popular Formula 1 game. There are a number of notable innovations compared to its predecessor F1 24, including a revamped My Team mode, Braking Point 3 and the introduction of LIDAR technology, making circuits look more realistic than ever.

During an exclusive preview event at Codemasters' studio in Birmingham - attended by GPblog - the most important new features were first presented, after which there was plenty of time to experience the game yourself hands-on. This gave a good idea of the innovations that have been implemented compared to last year's edition.

With Russell and Antonelli, Wolff has no reason to go for Verstappen

Karun Chandhok believes that George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli have given Toto Wolff, Mercedes' team principal and CEO, little to no reason to sign Max Verstappen.

For Chandhok, former F1 driver turned pundit, Russell is a part of the top echelon of F1. "If today we had to pick your top performers of the first five weekends, you'd probably go, Piastri, Verstappen, Russell as your top three, wouldn't you? He's been outstanding, George, this year," the Indian stated in Sky's F1 podcast.
