Max Verstappen had to go deep in qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, but it was all worth it. The Red Bull Racing driver found more than two-tenths on Fernando Alonso's previous fastest time in the final sector. It made for brilliant board radio afterwards.
Verstappen shouted towards his team: "That one came from far away, but 'very lovely'." Horner responded: "What a last sector, unbelievable, well-done mate," before his Dutch driver added: "I hit the wall pretty hard on the straight too."
