Russell's Belgian Grand Prix victory has been thrown into doubt

George Russell could potentially lose his Belgian Grand Prix victory as the stewards want to investigate his car. His car is 1.5kg underweight and if found guilty, Russell will be disqualified. Russell had to fight hard with his Mercedes teammate in the closing stages. Lewis Hamilton finished second.

A report from the FIA says: "After the Race, car number 63 was weighed and its weight was 798.0 kg, which is the minimum weight required by TR Article 4.1. After this, fuel was drained out of the car and 2.8 litres of fuel were removed. The car was not fully drained according to the draining procedure submitted by the team in their legality documents as TR Article 6.5.2 is fulfilled. The car was weighed again on the FIA inside and outside scales, and the weight was 796.5 kg. The calibration of the outside and inside scales was confirmed and witnessed by the competitor," the statement said.

If Russell is found guilty, he will be disqualified. This will promote Hamilton to P1 and Oscar Piastri to second. A place on the podium becomes available for Charles Leclerc.

Mercedes team manager (Ron Meadows) had to report to the stewards at 18.10 after the race at Spa. The stewards' verdict seems to be coming at any moment.
