Racing Point withdraws from the case against the penalty they received after copying the Mercedes brake ducts. The team has received a fine of 400,000 euros and fifteen points deducted in the constructors' championship.
In a statement, the team says that they are happy with the resolution the teams have agreed on. Racing Point also states that the FIA has given the much needed clarification of the rules for listed and unlisted parts.

Lack of clarity

"The stewards and all parties involved in the appeals process recognise that there was a lack of clarity in the regulations and that we did not deliberately break them," it says in the statement.
"Now that the ambiguity around the regulations has been settled, we have decided to withdraw our appeal in the wider interests of the sport." According to the team, the issue has been a major distraction for all teams and the team now wants to shift the focus back to racing.
