Penalty for Mercedes' driver after collision with Red Bull’s Hadjar in China

Kimi Antonelli’s Sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix unravelled after the Mercedes driver was handed a 10-second penalty.
The young Italian, who had qualified second, suffered a nightmare start that saw him tumble as low as seventh by the end of the opening lap.

Following his poor start, Antonelli made contact with Isack Hadjar, causing damage to the Red Bull Racing driver’s RB22 on the very first lap. As a result, Antonelli was handed a 10-second penalty with well over half of the Sprint distance still remaining.
