Official entry list keeps AlphaTauri's new name a mystery

The FIA has announced the entry list for Formula 1 for the 2024 season. The list features two new names. As already known, Alfa Romeo's name has disappeared and has been replaced by Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber. Aston Martin also have a new name. AlphaTauri remains on the entry list, though that will change in the new year.

Alfa Romeo said goodbye as Sauber's name sponsor. The Swiss team's name from 2024 is also known. The team will race under the name Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber. Incidentally, this name will disappear in just two years. From 2026, Sauber will be Audi's factory team.

Aston Martin finished seventh in the 2022 Constructors’ championship but became a team able to get podiums in 2023. They made a huge jump through the winter, and Fernando Alonso was the closest driver to Red Bull in the season's early stages. The likes of McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari caught up with the Silverstone-based team as the season went on, but it was still an impressive feat nonetheless.

Alonso and teammate Lance Stroll hope to be competitive again in 2024.
