Liveblog: The Spanish Grand Prix

2019-05-12 13:10:00 by Louis Shaw

It's here! Finally, the build-up is over and we don't have much longer to wait until the start of the Spanish Grand Prix. After Mercedes have dominated for much of the weekend it looks likely that they will be the team to beat during today's race. Valtteri Bottas put in another impressive performance during qualifying and starts alongside Lewis Hamilton on the front row. Ferrari would have hoped to have been faster and will try to get ahead early on. It should be an interesting race.

It's a Mercedes front row but Max Verstappen has managed to split the Ferrari's and starts the race 4th alongside Sebastian Vettel. Could we see a Red Bull on the podium?

Charles Leclerc starts the race in 5th and will hope that he can make up positions quickly as he looks to get on the podium. Pierre Gasly lines up in 6th and will hope that he can continue to improve and get some valuable points.

The midfield is as tight as ever and it should be a competitive race!
