George Russell believes his new team Williams are so far behind the rest on the grid that actual race weekends will be treated as "test sessions".
George Russell joins Williams Racing at 20 years-old and with expectations high after a hugely successful 2018 campaign. Russell is one of four rookies on the grid in 2019. The Englishman’s rise through the ranks of the junior formulae was capped off with a championship win in the FIA Formula 2 series, winning out in a battle with fellow rookie Lando Norris. Born in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, Russell has risen from Formula Renault 2.0 to the premier stage of single-seater racing in just five seasons, taking championship titles in F2, GP3 and Formula 4 along the way.
