Antonio Giovinazzi

Alfa Romeo Racing

Since Jarno Trulli and Vitantonio Liuzzi left the sport at the end of 2011, Formula 1 has been without a permanent driver from Italy, until now. Antonio Giovinazzi signed his first full year F1 contract with Alfa Romeo Racing, replacing the Indycar bound Marcus Ericsson. The Australian Grand Prix will not be Giovinazzi’s first taste of Formula 1 racing. He filled in for the injured Pascal Wehrlein at the opening two races in 2017 for Sauber, in Australia and China and left a good mark on the sport despite not picking up any points.
