Nyck de Vries was long known as a Mercedes man, but he has left the German racing stable behind for a permanent seat at AlphaTauri. The turn of the year meant he officially started working for his new team and preparations started immediately.

De Vries officially started at AlphaTauri

In a video from AlphaTauri, De Vries looks ahead to his first year in Formula 1. "It's 2023, which means I am officially part of the Red Bull and AlphaTauri family," says the Dutchman from Dubai. "I'm obviously very excited and I feel great."
De Vries' location and outfit show that he is already fully engaged in preparing for his debut season in the king class of motorsport. "I'm living like an athlete and training like an athlete. We are putting all our time and efforts into what's coming," said the 27-year-old.
De Vries' arrival means that there will be two Dutchmen on the F1 grid in 2023, who also both happen to be part of the Red Bull family. Helped by a push from Max Verstappen, the then Mercedes reserve's GP debut was enough to convince Helmut Marko of his qualities.
