It was a hectic end of qualifying at the Bahrain International Circuit. During the second and final run, there were still four contenders for the pole position: Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas and Pierre Gasly. In the end, it was the Dutch Red Bull Racing driver who took the win.

It got really exciting for a while, because Hamilton managed to improve his pace and jump to provisional pole position. Verstappen responded in a fantastic way by scoring three purple sector finishes. This gave him a lead of almost four tenths and a great position for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
