Racing Point is the first team to get back on track with the 2020 car. After a long break through the corona virus, the race stable with the pink livery is the first to appear on the track with the newest car.

After the winter tests the Formula 1 drivers and teams have been sitting still for a long time. They did travel to Australia, but in the end they wouldn't drive a single meter. Now, three months later, it is the Racing Point that appears on the track for the first time with the new car, after Mercedes and Renault already did so with an old car.

Advantage for Racing Point

Where in the past the teams could test non-stop, they are now limited in doing so. For example, Mercedes and Renault drove old cars on Silverstone and the Red Bull Ring respectively, in order to comply with the guidelines of Formula 1. Racing Point does drive the new car at Silverstone and has a good reason for doing so.

In fact, teams are allowed two filming days per year with a maximum of 100 kilometres on Pirelli special tyres. This way not much data can be collected by the team. Still, it will be nice for Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll to get into the car now, where the other drivers will only be able to do so during the first free practice in Austria.
