Zak Brown has said that F1 "needs different types of characters" when asked about a potential return to the sport for Christian Horner. "I've got my friends in the pit lane and some that aren't. But I think that's what makes it exciting."
- Zak BrownAfter becoming team principal at Red Bull when the first came into the sport in 2006, the Brit was sacked early in the month of July after 20 years at the helm of the Austrian team.
September saw Horner formally leave Red Bull, and now the question is when the 51-year-old will make a return to the motorsport world.
"I think he's had a stellar career in Formula 1. His results are lots of driver championships and world championships," Brown started when asked about a potential return for Horner while speaking on
Bloomberg Open Interest.

"I think when you get into sport, not everyone is best friends. There are different characters. While we may not have too many cups of tea, as we say in England, you need all different types of characters in the sport. I think that's what makes the sport very exciting," the American continued.
"That's the kind of Netflix effect that happens off the track, and I think our sport's unique in that not only is the competition on the field of play extremely exciting, there's a lot of competition off the field of play.
"It's a small group of team bosses and drivers, so I think the fans can kind of get to know us all. I've got my friends in the pit lane and some that aren't. But I think that's what makes it exciting, and it's authentic and genuine."
Horner's future up in the air
Since the massive news broke that Horner would no longer be team principal and CEO at Red Bull, there has been plenty of talk about what the Brit may do next.
