Sabotage within karting: team pours sugar into competitor's tank

XCEL Motorsport is facing a setback after being on the receiving end of foul play. On 11th January 2025, the team entered their tent to discover that one of their competitors had messed with all three of their driver's cars, thus creating issues for everyone involved.

XCEL Motorsport released a team statement on 12th January 2025 detailing foul play that had happened the day earlier. XCEL was the victim of targeted sabotage as one of the competing teams poured sugar into all three of their drivers' gas tanks. This act ruined the cars and financially set the team back. In the statement, the team did not mention who exactly committed the act of foul play because XCEL wanted to "protect what little dignity they had left".

As a result of the cars being ruined, the team's championship standings will be affected. The team has called for the IAME UAE series and the EMSO to investigate the competitors that committed the act.

The team's announcement has been met with sympathy and disbelief as fans defend XCEL Motorsport and what happened to them.
