Mick Schumacher is Mercedes' reserve driver of during this current Formula 1 season. The German is running tests with the team, but does not hide the fact that he would love to return within Formula 1. Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff also feels Schumacher would fit into a Formula 1 seat on the grid.
"I think he deserves to be on the grid," opened the Austrian in front of GPblog. "The moment you're not feeling confident in a car over a prolonged period, the more pressure you put on yourself, the less good you perform and I think this has happened with Haas," Wolff continued.

Wolff happy with Schumacher

"If you win F3 and F2, there is hypertension in you and he was never able to show it. I'm glad we have a third driver that I know will do the job if one of ours eats a bad fish, but the contribution in the simulator is tremendous," concludes Wolff.
It already became clear recently that Schumacher is not an option for AlphaTauri either, as they are fishing from their own talent pool. Several months ago, Schumacher already told them he was ready "for all the action". In Spain, the German was allowed to test on behalf of Mercedes and there she drove some 140 laps on the circuit near Barcelona.
