During the past
Formula 1 season, rumours surfaced about the future of
Toto Wolff, who could not lead
Mercedes to victory in 2023. Wolff himself says he has no plans to leave for the time being. Former
F1 driver
Timo Glock also thinks it is an unlikely scenario.
The 51-year-old Austrian has a majority stake in
Lewis Hamilton and
George Russell's team and therefore cannot just be sent away. He could, however, sell his shares, but Glock does not see that happening any time soon.
Would Wolff sell his shares in Mercedes?
"I can’t imagine he would stop F1 in the situation he is in now. He is still desperate to show everyone that he can and will bring Mercedes back to the top," said the former F1 driver in conversation with
BettingSites.co.uk.
He continued: "But you never know what is going on politically in the background. The pressure on him and all those whose teams aren’t winning is immense. He has made fundamental changes to the team to get it back in the right direction."
