Will Vettel run to challenge Ben Sulayem for the FIA's presidency? The German reveals

The former Red Bull Racing and Ferrari driver was clear in his answer about running to be elected: "I do not yet know enough about the responsibilities of an FIA president. From a Formula 1 perspective, you only see part of it. I do have some understanding of it, but not enough to be able to judge."

"It would be unprofessional to say now: yes, I can see myself doing that. Ross Brawn can assess that, because in his position he has had more contact with the FIA and therefore knows what type of person is suitable for this position," he concluded.

What Vettel is going to do in the future is still unknown. He was often rumuored as a possible successor to Helmut Marko at Red Bull Racing. He also ruled out a return to F1 as a driver.

Although Vettel is not a candidate to succeed Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the Emirati does have a challenger in Tim Mayer.

He was previously critical of the current president and explained why he was running for election. He previously said: "Namely, at the point where we are no longer talking about a democracy, even though that was what he campaigned for."
