Formula 1's virtual world version, is growing rapidly, but F1's head of marketing believes we could be seeing these gamers on the F1 race track soon enough.
In the 2019 Race of Champions, Formula E champion and former Virgin driver Lucas Di Grassi was beaten by simracer Enzo Bonito.
"I would definitely say 'watch this space', especially after the Race of Champions," she told motorsport.
"That crystallised Esports as a profession versus it being just a game. I think 10 years, the speed in which technology changes is phenomenal. So that could happen within that timeframe."
Over the last couple of years the simulators, which drivers and teams use to prepare for Grand Prix weekends, have improved as technology has advanced. Perhaps we'll see a lot more Esports racers switching to take control of the simwork in the garage.
