After the Imola Grand Prix was the surprise of 2020, it is no surprise that the historic circuit is back on the calendar this year. The track has a rich history, and with that a whole row of pole sitters. Here is an overview of the last ten pole positions at Imola. Who will be the newest addition to the list this weekend?
There is a relatively high probability that the driver who takes pole position this weekend will be a new addition to the list. This is considering Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are both yet to make their mark on the qualifying session in Italy. Valtteri Bottas, after all, claimed first place in 2020.

Living history

Before last year's Grand Prix at Imola, fans had not seen the legendary circuit on the calendar for almost fifteen years. Looking further back into Formula One history, we see the name of Michael Schumacher, who was fastest on Saturday in 2006, 2003 and 2002.

The Finnish drivers also stand out in the list. Besides Bottas, Kimi Raikkonen and Mika Hakkinen also took pole position on Imola.
