Sebastian Vettel has secured yet another pole position, his third in a row, and the German said after the qualifying that he was very comfortable in his car, which helped him a lot in his run.
Vettel explained that he used Q1 and Q2 to feel out the car before heading into Q3.
"I felt that the car was good in Q1 and Q2, which gave me a good feeling heading into the final round," he said.
"I knew that my car was good enough to get pole position.
"I was very happy with my first lap and fortunately that proved to be enough."
Vettel knows, though, that on this circuit anything can happen during the race, as proven last year.
"It's going to be an intense race," he predicted.
"Anything can happen and the chances of there being a safety car is big."
