Max Verstappen has topped the timesheets in the first free practice session at Interlagos and has started the weekend perfectly as he looks to become the youngest pole sitter ever.
The top six drivers filled the top six positions and Red Bull look in a good position, with Daniel Ricciardo finishing in fourth.
Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton were second and third, with Finnish pair Kimi Raikkonen and Valtteri Bottas in fifth and sixth respectively.
It was a good session for Haas, who had Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen seventh and eighth, with Charles Leclerc and Esteban Ocon rounding off the top ten.
Antonio Giovinazzi, Lando Norris and Nicholas Latifi raced for Sauber, McLaren and Force India in FP1, but the cars will be returned to Marcus Ericsson, Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez for FP2, which starts at 5pm UK time. You can follow GPBlog.com’s liveblog from 4:45pm.
