Max Verstappen has reaffirmed his commitment to Red Bull while insisting he has no intention of racing in Formula 1 into his 40s. "I'm 28 now and have a contract with Red Bull until 2028. I want to fulfill that too. At this point in time, I rule out a team change"
- Max VerstappenThe four-time world champion is set to embark on his 12th season in
Formula 1, with three years still remaining on the long-term deal he signed with the Milton Keynes-based outfit back in 2022.
The Dutchman found himself at the centre of intense summer transfer speculation, with persistent rumours linking him to Mercedes. Verstappen himself ultimately put an end to the talk, confirming he would remain at Red Bull for the upcoming season.
Speaking in an interview with Blick, the Dutchman admitted he was saddened by no longer having Helmut Marko by his side, following the Austrian’s departure shortly after the end of last season. He nevertheless reiterated his intention to see out his contract in full.

"I'm 28 now and have a contract with Red Bull until 2028. I want to fulfill that too. At this point in time, I rule out a team change. It's a shame that I no longer have my friend and sponsor Helmut Marko by my side in 2026. I will miss him."
When asked whether he would still be on the grid at the age of 40, the Dutchman added: "At the age of 40, I might still be in the pits as team principal in another series."

Formula 1 began remarkably early, recalling how he was already spending time in the pit lane with Schumacher when he was just five years old.
Reflecting on those memories today, Verstappen also noted a number of qualities he feels he shares with the seven-time world champion.
