Max Verstappen was upset how Bottas got away penalty free following the Finn's corner cutting. The Dutchman feels as if he should have done the same and vows to copy Bottas next time.
Verstappen claims his penalty for touching Kimi Raikkonen was a result of him trying not to cut the corner. In the final stages of the race, Verstappen was pushing hard on Bottas. The Mercedes driver made a few mistakes under the pressure.
"If I get a five-second penalty for that, then next time I'll just cut the track and do like Valtteri," Verstappen said in an interview on racefans.
"I was just trying my best to do the corner and not making it look like 'ok I lock up. I'll just cut the corner'. I know what to do next time."
The Red Bull driver managed to finish on the podium for the sixth time this season. He's now putting pressure on Kimi Raikkonen who is just 23 points ahead.
