Verstappen hopes for change: 'I don't like street circuits anymore'

Max Verstappen hopes that street circuits will be absent from the Formula 1 calendar in the future. The two-time world champion was already never a fan of these tracks and notes that this has only got worse with the new regulations.

With tracks in Monaco, Miami, Jeddah, and Baku, among others, Formula 1 drivers face a lot of street circuits every year. Verstappen showed in recent years that he can put up strong race weekends in these conditions, but it did not help him get more enthusiastic about it.

According to the Red Bull Racing driver, the current cars are by no means capable of driving between narrow streets toward the finish line. "Too heavy, too stiff and you can't take kerbs anymore. The cars are just not built for it," he stressed in an interview with Formule1.nl.

Verstappen, therefore hopes the organisation of the motorsport class will change. "Formula 1 cars are really not made for that. I don't like street circuits at all anymore," said the driver, who does understand that it looks nice when the cars drive through the streets.
