The 24 Hours of Nürburgring was almost over for Max Verstappen. The Red Bull Racing driver nearly ended up in the barriers after almost losing control of his Mercedes.
Max Verstappen nearly had to pack it in at the start of his first stint in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. The Dutchman almost lost control of his Mercedes after hitting a bump on the track, sending him onto the grass. Verstappen just managed to save the car and keep it out of the barriers.
An hour after the start of the 24-hour race, Verstappen took over the wheel from teammate Daniel Juncadella. The Spaniard, after qualifying the Verstappen Racing car in P4 on Friday, got to start the race for Team Verstappen. After a strong one-hour stint, Verstappen got in for the first time.
After the pit stop and driver change, the Dutchman rejoined the track in P10. After several battles, Verstappen is now up to P5. The four-time world champion is expected to drive a double stint of two hours.
