Vasseur knows what is needed for speed in Singapore: 'Car with balance'

After a top result in the home race at Monza, Ferrari now heads to the totally different Singapore. Instead of top speed, cornering speed will now be important. Team boss Frederic Vasseur knows his drivers can make a big difference on the street circuit.

Vasseur on Singapore GP

"We go racing again at a circuit that could not be more different to Monza. The Marina Bay track requires a high level of aerodynamic downforce, a particularly efficient car in terms of traction and one that is well balanced, to give the drivers the confidence required to race between the walls in Singapore," Vasseur begins. So far, twisty tracks such as Circuit Zandvoort and the Hungaroring do not seem to suit Ferrari great.

Driver makes the difference in Singapore

On the circuit in Singapore, there is little room for error, but drivers need to get as close to the wall as possible to gain time. "Like all street circuits, the driver can really make a big difference here. We have done plenty of preparation work in the simulator and now the key will be for Carlos and Charles to do as many laps as possible in free practice, to extract all the potential from the SF-23."
