Various GP organisers come to see 'how it's done' at Zandvoort

The Dutch Grand Prix is considered a role model for Formula 1. The organisation sees delegations from various races travelling to Zandvoort again this year to see how it is done.

After the first Dutch Grand Prix in 26 years, the organisation in Zandvoort received an enormous compliment from F1. The weekend was organised down to the last detail and seldom has the sport seen such a large crowd gather around a circuit. The Netherlands is now an example for many other racing organisations.

According to De Telegraaf the organisers of the Miami and Las Vegas Grand Prix (debuting in 2023) are present at Zandvoort to see how the logistics are arranged. During the event in Miami, things went wrong with the service for the guests. The organisers of the Grands Prix of Belgium, Spain and Bahrain are also present at Zandvoort.

Apart from the logistic example, Circuit Zandvoort in 2022 is also an interesting test. This year, DRS can be opened 300 metres earlier, which means that the corner also falls within the zone. The Arie Luyendyk-corner was specially designed for this purpose and on Friday a test will be held at Zandvoort to see if it is feasible for F1 cars to drive through it with an open DRS. In case it is not possible, the race committee could revert to the activation point of 2021, at the exit of the last corner.
