After admitting after his first year in Formula 1 that he underestimated how fit a driver needed to be, Yuki Tsunoda has been working hard on his fitness. But he has yet to match his team boss Franz Tost 's sporting routine.
The AlphaTauri driver is deeply impressed by his 66-year-old team boss, who gets up at 5.30am every day to run ten kilometres. Tost's dedication and fitness is an inspiration to Tsunoda, who saw his fitness as the main limitation to his performance in his debut year. He has made significant changes to his sporting routine and is also looking to improve his fitness during the winter break.

Tost satisfied with progress

That Tsunoda had to get used to the physical demands of Formula One was no surprise to his team boss, pointing to the high G-forces the drivers have to endure. Tost is satisfied with the changes the young Japanese driver has undergone, but does not expect Yuki to run with him: "Running is not his discipline, he has much shorter legs."
