Haas decided after the departure of Nikita Mazepin to put forward Kevin Magnussen as his replacement. According to Guenther Steiner, the driver not only has the qualities to move the team forward, but his experience can also be a driving force for Mick Schumacher.
Schumacher had little competition with Mazepin beside him last year. The Russian usually finished in last place, although Schumacher also failed to gain a point in the world championship. With Magnussen at his side, his development could go a lot faster.

Steiner is positive about the future

The team boss of the American racing stable put everything into 2021 to have a strong car in the new season. During the test days in Barcelona and Bahrain it became clear that Haas' car is indeed better than last season, although for now it remains to be seen how the team compares to the competition.
"I think Mick is happy to have somebody to learn from and to have a benchmark," Steiner explained in conversation with F1i.com. "We can see where he is and also he can improve. He will have an experienced driver looking at data, working with somebody who knows this car from driving very similar cars for six years. It’s very good."
