In Italian media, rumours suggest that Ferrari are looking to replace team principal Frederic Vasseur because of the team's results. Former driver Ralf Schumacher puts a name in the hat for the Scuderia in the Backstage Boxengasse podcast. With no chance of having a shot at either championship in 2025, the Italian media began reporting that Ferrari are looking to make changes. To GPblog,
Ferrari also responded that these rumours have no ground, and at the Canadian GP,
Vasseur explained they are only hurting the team this way.
However, if Ferrari would decide to make a change, Ralf Schumacher has an idea in terms of who to bring in.
Who would Ralf Schumacher pick for the role?
“If I had to choose today, I would take Andreas Seidl,” the former Williams and Toyota driver began.
"But Andreas Seidl can't do it alone. He needs structure around him,” he continued.
Seidl has had few successful endeavors in Formula 1 in recent years. He has worked at McLaren and lastly at Audi, where he was sidelined.
'Vasseur is not the Problem'
The German also explains that in terms of what he hears in the paddock, Vasseur is not the issue.
He concluded: “There are rumors that Fred Vasseur is the one putting on the brakes, but that's not true. In fact, many things are not carried out as they should be, despite being requested."
