The race at the Belgian Grand Prix was cancelled last weekend, but because of the few laps with the Safety Car, the drivers were still awarded half points. Carlos Sainz however doesn't think this is right.
The Ferrari driver qualified in tenth place on Saturday afternoon, giving him half a point for the race in Belgium. Sainz doesn't really understand how he earned that half-point and therefore wonders how the rules were devised.
"How far into the race do you have to be to call it a race and how, if there were actually no race laps, no competition, why should there be points or a result given? Because there was actually no race," quoting Autobahn.eu him.

Sainz thinks half-point undeserved

The Spaniard finds the situation difficult to understand. "I didn't race, so I didn't earn half points. So I don't know why I got half a point. If the restart was done with the intention of being able to give points, then it's absolute nonsense. I don't think we should do laps just to change the result."
