Ferrari is in the midst of a three-day test at the private Fiorano circuit. On Tuesday, Robert Shwartzman was already driving at the circuit; on Wednesday it was Carlos Sainz's turn to get his first F1 miles of this year.

Sainz at Fiorano

In the morning, Sainz drove 26 laps in cold and wet conditions, Ferrari reported on its official website. In the afternoon, it started raining again at Fiorano, which made Ferrari decide to send the driver onto the track again on rain tyres. He was later able to change to slicks, on which he completed another 93 laps.
Sainz completed a total of 119 laps in the Ferrari SF21, the car in which the Spaniard was introduced to the Italian racing stable when he joined the team in 2021. The car has proved very successful for Sainz, who managed to finish ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc in his first season at Ferrari.
On Thursday, it will be Leclerc's turn to take a seat in the SF21. He may be observed by his younger brother Arthur, who also attended Sainz's test. He was accompanied by fellow Ferrari Driver Academy driver Maya Weug.
