Russell takes information from Mercedes to Williams: 'We could learn from that'

George Russell impressed on his Mercedes debut in Sakhir despite not winning the race. The fact that he did not win there is therefore only to blame on the team. Moreover, in that one weekend he already learned some things that he might be able to help Williams on his way.
Russell, with his relatively long body, was squeezing into Lewis Hamilton's car, but some things felt better, such as the adjustment of the clutch pedal.

Williams wants to understand tyres and clutch better

"So he's got some ideas about that," said Dave Robson, chief vehicle performance at Williams, who's quoted by Motorsport.com. "Particularly about how he might like to change the clutch paddle, so the sort of ergonomics of what they do. That's something we can look at over the winter."
But probably the most important thing is the way Mercedes handles the tyres. "I think probably the whole drivetrain systems are a bit too different, but what tends to be more interesting is the tyre preparation and how you understand the grip that you're going to have at the start: and therefore what the clutch target is. There's probably something for us to learn about there I think."
