Daniel Ricciardo is having another disappointing season at
McLaren. Nevertheless, he is trying to keep his spirits up and is enjoying the race weekends. In particular, he is looking forward to the
Dutch Grand Prix, he says in an interview with the
NOS.
The former teammate of
Max Verstappen visibly enjoyed last season's Dutch GP. The Dutch fans created a great atmosphere in the stands, making the drivers eager to return to Zandvoort this season.
"Last year it was already so overwhelming, the orange sea and the atmosphere. And then the number of spectators was still limited due to covid. It was as if we were the drivers at the heart of a festival," Ricciardo recalls. "Even if you were in your car in the pit lane, you could hear music and see a dancing crowd. Zandvoort will be incredible again in September. I like the Dutchies."
Ricciardo starts in top ten in GP France
On Saturday afternoon Ricciardo recorded the ninth fastest time in qualifying for the GP of France, again slower than teammate
Lando Norris. However, in the interview with the Dutch medium the driver says he is positive about his chances in the race.
