AlphaTauri driver
Daniel Ricciardo underwent surgery on his hand on Sunday morning. The Australian is doing well, sharing an update from his hospital bed and revealing on his
Instagram page that he is working very hard on his recovery.
Hand surgery for Ricciardo
Ricciardo broke his metacarpal in the second free practice for the Grand Prix at
Zandvoort. The AlphaTauri driver saw the crashed
Oscar Piastri too late and said he had little choice but to park his car in the tyre wall. The steering wheel recoil caused a fracture in his hand. Liam Lawson took his place and made his official
Formula 1 debut at
Zandvoort.
On his Instagram page, Ricciardo reveals that he had surgery on his hand on the morning before the race at Zandvoort. He says a metal plate was placed in his hand. He also thanked everyone for their support and let the good-humoured driver know that he is working hard on his return to the car.
